Jill Pellew


Dr. Jill Pellew is a senior research fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. She is currently researching the history of universities and their private benefactors. Between 1994 and 1999, she was a university fundraiser, heading development teams at Imperial College and the University of Oxford. In the 1980s, she was executive secretary of the Chatham House Foundation in Washington, D.C. Before this, she taught British political science at universities, including the University of Saigon, American University, Washington, D.C., and the University of Sussex. Pellew has authored several publications, including the forthcoming Utopian Universities: A Global History of the New Campuses of the 1960s (London: Bloomsbury, 2020). Jill took a B.A. and M.A. (History) at the University of Oxford, and a Ph.D. at the University of London.
